Chords4Ukes App Reviews

Brilliant

Just brought home a new uke and thought, "there must be an app out there with some basic chord tabs for reference." I did a quick search, and this app was the right price. What I expected was something that just displayed images of a few of the most common chords for a quick start. What I got was so much more. You get charts for all the most common chords, presented in an intuitive way, with multiple options for each chord as you go up the fretboard. You can tune your uke to it, and you can listen to the notes of each chord as well. Simply brilliant.

Just what I needed

I was looking for some simple app that would show me how to play certain chords (I was looking for a 7th), and this app is small, fast, simple yet perfect. Love it.

Very handy

I love this app!!!!!!! It has most chords I need. It is easy to use and organised I always pull it out when Teresa a chord a dont remember. For any uke player this is a need to have app!!

Just Right

Exactly the right amount of chord and fingering information, lucidly presented. And free...! As an experienced musician learning a new instrument, this is precisely the quick reference I needed. The tuning tones are a nice bonus, though adding a tenor range (including hi/lo G) option would be helpful.

Thank for making such a great App

Im a musician, but Ive never played the ukulele. This app is exactly what I was looking for with more details than I even imagined. I love the inversions. I love that you show the note being played in the fret. Best of all, you kept it all very simple and user friendly. Thank you!!!!!

Thank you!

Best chord app that I have tried, and its free!!

No longer free

I loved this app when I had the original free version. It was so good, I paid the $0.99 to have this updated version. But now it says I need to pay an extra $1.99 to be able to store more than 3 songs in the songbook. Not cool. Still, the chord finding functionality continues to be great.

Songbook issue

Im having an issue with the songbook and the placement of the chords in conjuncture with the lyrics. the first 3 or 4 chords are good but then they disappear until you get to the end of the lyrics and you find the rest of the chords. Not exactly what was advertised. Tried the app support button but no real way to get an answer. Am I the only one who has noticed? Is it just me? Is it the songs Im picking? Are you working to fix it? Please advise. Thanks.

Great for beginners

Chord charts, a tuning tool, and the ability to download songs and instructional videos. Terrific!

Looooove this app

I use it to tune my uke all the time. Lets face it... Its tough enough to convince people of the supremacy of the uke - even harder when its not in tune!! =) Unfortunately: for several months I have been unable to use this app as it wont update :(. Im sure its not the developers fault... My phone has been doing other weird stuff :P But one day Ill have my favorite app back :)

Ukulele player

Ive used this app for years and it keeps getting better. The new songbook feature with teleprompter, transpose and sharing feature is awesome. Makes a great jam companion tool.

Great tool!

I love how easy this makes it to start playing songs with the ukelele right away! I especially appreciate being able to add any song and have the app display the chords for the uke. Theres a few things Id love to see tweaked, but the developers are really open to feedback. I look forward to future releases.

Crashy...

Nice enough for the price. Spending the extra 99 cents to allow more than three songs in the songbook allows me to continually restart the app after it crashes while attempting to download tunes. Running on a 1st gen iPad. Nice when the songs charts work. Some guidelines on downloading to the songbook might be helpful.

Nice

Im horrible at remembering chords sometimes, so I use this app almost every time I bring out my uke. Id like to suggest maybe being able to position the dots and it tells me what chord it is (if its a real chord at all). Sometimes Im playing around and wonder what Im playing but I dont want to go through each chord on the app to see what Im playing. I hope that makes sense. Otherwise this is great!

Instruction Note Bubbles

If there is no way to get rid of the instruction notes then this app is absolutely ridiculous. Its downright frustrating to attempt to use this thing when there are words hovering over every inch of the screen, and the fact that after you touch them they dont go away is awful. I am not happy with this app at all in its current state.

No sounds

Just bought this app and I get no sounds when I try to use the tuner. Nor do I get the sound of the chord when I swipe it. Is anyone else having this problem? If so were you able to fix it?

Best Uke app I have. Easy to use and really helps.

The tuner can be a bit fussy to toggle on and off, but thats about the only flaw Ive noticed so far. It really does a great job helping me find and learn chords. Very highly recommended.

Cool app for the price

I like this app a lot. Some suggestions would be to have instructions on how to transpose-- it wasnt very intuitive to figure out. But the developer was helpful when I contacted via email. And yes, there should be a way to get rid of the instruction bubbles when you dont need to see them. But this is a fun app, does a lot for the price and makes playing the uke so much easier. Cant complain.

Almost, but not quite.

At first I was jazzed by this app because of the songbook. The chord helper was okay, but thats been done many times over in other apps, some better and some worse than this app. Once I started getting into adding songs to the songbook I started noticing all sorts of bugs. Needs an update badly. So e of he bugs include adding songs sent through email. First, its not intuitive how to do it, but instructions can be found on their Facebook page. Even with the instructions the songs dont import - really a cut/paste function - correctly. The chords get misplaced or dont get recognized as chords, so a lot of correcting is needed. Another big issue is transcribing. It works fine first time through but for some reason I couldnt get back to the original chord set when I went back to the original key - the chords were all wrong. Things that seemed to work was importing songs from the internet. I also liked the song scroll feature, once you get your songs corrected. This app has a lot of potential and I hope the creator puts in some time to update it.

No good

This app is a fraud I only got it couse it had imagine on it... But it doesnt not worth a cent!!!
